designing a ‘green’ home?
for a project i want to design an eco friendly home i want to make an architectural plan and a virtual design of the interior and exterior.
what softwares can i use on mac for that i have google Sketchup but i don’t really know how to design the interior of a house using that the software must not be too expensive and one that i can buy online and use immediately
Macs are crippled by lack of available software.
There are some high end programs available for the interior layout, some home centers like Home Depot have a program for aiding in interior design layout, they might have a version for Mac.
Otherwise you have to resort to pen and ink, scan it and do a power point.
If you have no idea how to lay out a house interior, that is a handicap. Part of effective solar design often requires some knowledge so you site the structure correctly to take full advantage of everything the site can offer with maximum solar aspect.
3D Home Planner might have a Mac version, I would check Egg Head, to see what tiles they have available, also you might happen across something in the discount bin at Office Depot or Staples, Comp Usa might have something too. Considering your need for a short learning curve means freeware is not a choice and shareware will be difficult to find. Although you might stand a chance with http://sourceforge.net
