How To Make Your Home Eco Friendly
Does anyone know any websites that…?
Can you tell you how to make your home more eco-friendly/ energy efficient?
E.g. – she has a room which is a sun-trap, could she make use of solar energy?, best way to grow your own veg, preventing too much water waste – all that sort of thing
My friend has just moved house and she wants to do it but would like some help as to where to start.
Any info would be greatly appreciated!
Many thanks.
Many thanks for ALL your responses!
Sorry, I didn’t get a chance to vote for best answer – I missed the deadline to do it as I couldn’t get to my comp over the weekend.
I have chosen a best ShowFlake as best answer – who couldn’t resist ALL those sites, and I think my friend would love to read your audit! (Sorry I can’t guarantee your 10 points SnowFlake)
Will forward ALL this info to my friend – she will be so pleased! x ![]()
Polly from Together – just checked out the site, its great! I think I may have been converted
Seriously, i’ll give you a long list but here’s the some main ideas we are a group of students (Sec) and we did an energy audit on our friend’s house so our conclusion is that
-Electricity appliances should not be on standby mode
-Use double-glazed windows with shades
-Install a meter to monitor energy consumption
-Invest in inverter air conditioner
-Set the air-conditioners at 25 °C
One website I want to highlight is:
www.inhabitat.com
it’s quite useful
A version of our research can be read from www.save-our-days.blogspot.com
Here’s the list of sites: (i have some book references if you want)
