Should consumers insist on Environmentally friendly products?

It is a virtual challenge that has made several industrial sectors go ‘green’ with their new range of products. Now there is a choice of eco-friendly products for consumption, gifting, and regular use. And then there are recycled and Green Products. These terms can be royally endearing and sometimes confusing to the consumers who are just beginning to be inundated with several such goods. Going Green does not really mean that one essential uses ‘disposable’ or ‘perishable’, biodegradable or even organic yield only. It is a cumulative and a sustained effort to bring it to daily life. Therein is its usefulness and eventual utility. Hence a consumer should know the difference between the different terms associated with the growing green revolution. This will help them to identify the right way to contributing their might to help the planet a better place to live in and also insist on the environmental friendly products.

Ironically it is a real challenge to bring eco-friendly harvest and goods in the market. For example, for long plastic was a convenient and staple element that was molded to make several useful household items. In fact a child’s bright plastic lunch box with attractive features is still a regular sell out in kiddie stores just before schools reopen. But now it is toxic even to think about it without considering how bad it is for health and environment in the long run. Hence other materials have now made their debut in the market. For instance organic cotton is much more expensive to be produced. Wearing an organic cotton shirt eventually becomes more expensive too. Compromising on the quality to keep prices cheap is a deterrent too. Are consumers willing to pay more for environmentally friendly products? Probably yes, if they are made aware of the ill-effects they will shell out more money. An aggressive marketing strategy to join the green gang needs to be a regular effort till the changes actually happens. This means a single, average household needs to employ a combination of products in homes to contribute to the clean environment.

A dispensable dish water liquid that does not use chemicals but herbal cleansing material for dishes is one choice. The energy that the dish washing machine and other appliances take can be routed through solar beams. It saves the costs too. Use of biodegradable plastics makes garbage less polluting. Hence clean air contributes to health of humans and the local environment. Can plastic thrash be put in an incinerator? Yes, it can be if you still have some left. When consumers are interested in saving the environment and insist on buying such products, the market pulse has to shift to make way for the change.
